Accessibility Statement

Our Policy on Access and Inclusion of Disabled and Older People.
Our intention is to ensure that all our guests, including those with disabilities and older people, experience a warm welcome and we will do our best to make a visit to Ty’n Rhos Country House work well for everyone, within the limitations of a historic building. Our staff will be pleased to assist whenever possible.

Getting to Ty’n Rhos
Ty’n Rhos is in a quiet rural location and there are no public transport operators serving Ty’n Rhos directly. Taxis are available from the railway and bus stations at Bangor (5 miles). We may be able to collect guests (by prior arrangement) from Bangor station. Full directions and a map are available on www.tynrhos.co.uk/map.php  (please check cost beforehand). The Ordnance Survey grid reference is SH 545 667; postcode for satnav users is LL55 3AE. There is good mobile phone reception at Ty’n Rhos.

Approach and outside property
Ty’n Rhos is well signposted by brown tourism signs and a clear entrance sign. The approach is via a well-surfaced drive. There is no blue badge reserved parking at present but is possible to park close to the well signed approach to Reception. Guests staying in the Cottages are able to park nearby.

Access for wheelchair users and others with limited mobility
Most public areas (reception, guest lounge, bar and restaurant) have level access at Ty’n Rhos, although wheelchair users enter the restaurant using a rather steep ramp, necessitated by limited space available. The Conservatory is accessed via two steps.  There is no wheelchair accessible lavatory in the hotel.

None of the bedrooms are fully adapted for wheelchair users but several work well for those with limited mobility and ground floor rooms are available. There are plans to adapt one bedroom fully for wheelchair access.  Room 17 Clematis is a new bedroom/suite with private garden and ramped rear access, wheelchair accessible bathroom with walk-in shower - not totally accessible but excellent feedback so far from wheelchair users.

Visually impaired visitors
Ty’n Rhos is well-lit and generally has good colour contrast in bedrooms and public areas. Action is being taken to improve colour contrast to light switches in corridors. Information and menus are available in large print on request. Guide dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome. External steps all have contrasting nosings.

We are happy to meet the needs of guests with special dietary requirements. Prior notice is appreciated.
