About Us

Developed from an original farmstead, Ty'n Rhos is set in the stunning backdrop of Snowdonia National Park. Close to a small Welsh hamlet and nestled in a perfect location between the Snowdonia mountain range and the Menai Straits.
Ty'n Rhos, surrounded by open farmland, has everything you need for a relaxing luxury break and is ideal for family gatherings, reunions, important celebrations and holidays with friends and family that everyone will remember.

Ty'n Rhos is furnished to the highest standards with many antiques.  There is a large lounge with comfortable sofas and wood burning fire; a large conservatory leads off the hall and even on the bleakest day offers a true garden experience with fantastic views across open countryside to Anglesey. The separate Garden View Restaurant has patio doors to the gardens, two open fires and cosy bar area.

Ty’n Rhos Country House is now in the ownership of Stephen and Hilary Murphy. As experienced hoteliers previously owning Farthings Hotel in Somerset, they intend to continue operating Ty’n Rhos as a quality Country House.

Both Stephen and Hilary were initially Swiss trained and have spent their entire careers in the Hotel and Catering industry.

As a couple they had their first date in Caernarfon, 34 years on have two daughters and two grandsons - must be the Welsh water! Consequently they are delighted to be back in North Wales with the spectacular Snowdonia scenery as their backdrop and Castles around every corner. The hotel is centrally located for seeing all the sights that North Wales has to offer.

Guests can expect to be warmly welcomed by Hilary personally on many occasions, or by the professional front of house team being Robert, Yarek and Karen. We will strive to make your stay with us as relaxed and comfortable as possible in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

Quality cuisine is assured with Stephen heading the kitchen brigade, the emphasis being quality local produce skilfully prepared into dishes dictated by customer choice and enjoyment.
