The historically rich region of Britain is a popular place for tourists to uncover beautiful and eye-catching spectacles. The buildings and landmarks all breathe culture into the gorgeous landscape but what is there to do during your stay? The Castles

As iconic for the north as the valleys are for the south of Wales, there are many outstandingly preserved forts along the coast to take your interest.

Possibly the most famous of these is the castle situated in Conwy. With the whole town being encapsulated inside the glorious structure, it is a sight to behold as you come along the bridge (by foot or car) and step into the past. There’s plenty to do and see as you walk along the castle walls with a great view of the town center including the gorgeous quay and beyond. Journey into the main hub with enough information points to keep you and the children interested with tour guides on-hand to help.

Caernarfon castle is similarly notorious for delivering a fantastic experience. Although not as opulent as Conwy’s, this structure is grand in making and history. Built in 1824, it has retained much of its original layout with an array of things to do and see!

The Mountains

As Welsh as the beloved leek, these natural landmarks are a popular destination for hikers and spectators worldwide.

Undeniably the big daddy of the bunch is the gigantic Snowdon: the biggest mountain in all of Britain. Voted the #1 attraction on Tripadvisor, its infamy speaks for itself with many attendees per year all eager to soak up the experience within the mountainous region of Snowdonia.

Not to be neglected, the summits at Garnedd Ugain and the Carneddau aren’t as roundly-appreciated by the public but this simply adds to its charm. Coming in only a few feet below Snowdon, these two and many more deserve a visit on your stay.

The Animals

Besides the mythical, there is a great selection of wildlife and zoos to take your interest in North Wales any time of year.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo is a fantastic location which hosts all manner of animals including ones under conservation with the news that red pandas have recently joined the family. A “zoonique” experience is available from with live shows and exhibitions sure to tickle anyone’s interest. Watch chimpanzees frolic in their enclosure before enjoying sea lions performing their fun-filled show! Marvel at the mighty brown bear, take in the majesty of the snow leopard or laugh with the meerkats and lemurs – all sure to be unforgettable for you and the family.

Fancying something more aquatic? Then the SeaQuarium in Rhyl is the place for you. A wide of variety of sea life is available to you with handy information points to uncover more about them and with a live sea lion show, this is not be missed.

For the Kids

Far from having little to do for kids, North Wales boasts plenty of wonderful activities for them to take part in.

The Bonkerz Fun Centre in Llandudno offers a real throwback to playparks of old with much to keep the children happy. You can even leave them with the capable staff for the day as you go off and explore! Coupled with this, the seaside town of Towyn is one long amusement arcade with loads of rides and attractions for a great day out!

The Nightlife

Wind down after a hectic, fun day in one of the many brilliant pubs and clubs scattered across the region with a glass of acclaimed regional ale.

The Albion Ale House in Conwy’s ale is almost as well-known as the castle walls with four local breweries coming together to create an experience that’s regarded as a real, authentic pub by locals and tourists alike. With the hustle and bustle of clubs in surrounding areas offering much more entertainment, it’s sure to be an enjoyable time for all.
