Hotels in Snowdonia Prepare for Wakestock 2013!

Wakestock is back! Book hotels in Snowdonia to be near the massive, spectacular 2013 wakeboarding event this summer. The 12th, 13th and 14th of July will bring Wakestock to Snowdonia with a splash of water and explosion of music. Wakestock is the biggest wakeboarding event in Europe!

For those who have never been to the event and are not knowledgeable of water sports, wakeboarding came about through surfing and not enough waves. Wakeboarding features being positioned on a board while being dragged by a customised speed boat at approximately 25 miles an hour and then launching into the area to perform twists, tricks and manoeuvres.

Rails are now a big part of wakeboarding jumps and Pwllheli’s challenging course features many rails.

Wakestock is a combination music festival and wakeboarding contest and display. The main site of Wakestock is at Pen Y Berth between Abersoch and Pwllheli. A shuttle bus will be on hand for the event to carry people between the different wakeboarding sites and also into the village of Abersoch. Many hotels in Snowdonia are in easy travelling distance of Wakestock.

The European finals will take place on the Sunday 14th July and prizes will be awarded that evening. There will be several bars positioned throughout the festival and in the campsite. It is free to just watch the wakeboarding but you must be at least 12 to enter the festival. If you are under 16 you must be accompanied by an adult who is over 25 years old.

If you don’t fancy roughing it in the campsite for the weekend of Wakestock you can book into gorgeous and luxurious hotels in Snowdonia. That way you can catch the festival and the dramatically beautiful landscape in style and comfort. This is a great option if you are bringing the family.

Tickets and VIP packages are now on sale. The music line up and wakeboarding schedule have been planned and confirmed. There is less than 2 months to go before Wakestock so get booking tickets and hotels soon to witness this epic festival.
