Bangor New Music Festival Announces this Year’s Events

Bangor New Music Festival The Bangor New Music Festival is back for their 13th year celebrating contemporary music and promoting artists of the highest musical calibre. World-renowned Harpist Catrin Finch will open the event on Saturday the 9th of March with a Cabaret evening, performing pieces to evoke images of ancient mythology at Powis Hall, Bangor University. This will be followed on Sunday by a master class and an evening concert led by Finch, featuring work composed by pupils of Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias.

At a glance the itinerary for the festival is as follows:

•    Saturday 9th March 2013 - Catrin Finch and Band
•    Sunday morning 10th March 2013 - Catrin Finch Masterclass
•    Sunday evening 10th March 2013 - Catrin Finch and School Pupils
•    Monday 11th March 2013 - Castles, Poetry and Music with Dewi Ellis Jones
•    Tuesday 12th March 2013 - Bangor New Music Ensemble
•    Wednesday 13th March 2013 - Electroacoustic WALES
•    Thursday 14th March 2013 – Psappha

Tickets for the events range from £10 - £15 for an adult ticket, £5 - £12 pound for O.A.P’s, £3 - £7 for Students and £2 - £5 for children under 18 or a season ticket which covers all the festival concerts for just £50 for Adults, £40 for Concessions, £25 for Students and £15 for under 18’s.

The festival location is just a short 10 minute drive from the Tyn Rhos Country House Hotel nr Bangor, and with plenty of events planned to suit all tastes and age ranges there really isn’t an excuse not to join us in celebrating the local arts and (hopefully) soaking up a little bit of sunshine!
