What do the tests involve?
The test involves what is called Screening Audiometry, a process of identifying the hearing level of the worker, using calibrated Audiometry equipment. The results of these tests are compared against HSE categorisation figures based on Age and Sex of the employee. This will enable us determine normal, boderline hearing, and workers with a hearing loss.
As part of the screening process we will also conduct a Aural Health Questionnaire and Otoscopic Examination of the outer ear. The whole process takes approxiately 20 minutes.
