1993 I left University early to be an HGV driver. Together with my now husband, we built an international haulage company as well as starting our family. It may seem to be an unlikely career choice but Iım sure it gave me life experiences that have added to my work.
I have now returned to study on a fine art degree course with Bangor University which I am thoroughly enjoying and living on the side of the Moelwyn near the village of Croesor gives me plenty of inspiration for my paintings.
I was brought up around horses and so they provide me with my favourite inspiration. Lucy Rees, author of The Horse Mindı lived nearby and gave me great insight into horse behaviour. From a very early age, this made me think about the essence of connections between two beings horse and rider for instance, or two figures deep in conversation.
Living in a rugged landscape also gives me inspiration and again, the connections between the land and its people are important to me. I feel the need to capture life and energy along with movement and atmosphere, to bring the paintings alive.
My work includes commissions ranging from horses and dogs to children and buildings.
I have had two successful solo exhibitions and have participated in mixed exhibitions around the UK.
